MEMES is an interacting application jointly developed by WFS and Preferred Networks on mobile platforms. MEMES is considered an application with a combination of digital entertainment and artificial intelligence.
Both WFS and Preferred Networks have presented their expertise creating this application as the former had more than enough experience in producing, operating, and designing mobile games while the latter specializes in the knowledge of machine learning and deep learning.
The game title MEMES is derived from the concept developed by the animal behaviorist Richard Dawkins in 1976. It means transmitting mimicable phenomena from one brain to another via the channels of verbal communication, behavior, books, or mass media, etc.
As the word “meme” in culture came from the Greek word “mimeme”, meaning imitate, the game focuses on learning and evolution of the interactions between different species, or in this case, the application and human.
With kiki vivi lily singing for the theme song, some other notable names in the production team include Yugen (ゆーげん) and Naoko Sato. They are each famous for the character design of Atelier Series, Magireco, and Azure Lane, and the scriptwriting of Silent Hill, Siren, and Gravity Rush.
